The McKinley Family
Fraser First was thrilled to welcome our 2010 Fraser City Parade’s Grand Marshals- the McKinley Family! Arriving 60-strong – the children, and even a few great-grand children of Otis and Phyliss McKinley returned home in support of our wonderful town.
For our too-young-to-remember crowd, Otis V.B. “Doc” McKinley was Fraser’s most prominent dentist, and longtime councilman and mayor of Fraser from 1964-1968. Doc McKinley and Phyliss, raised a loving family of 11 children here in our town – and even built Fraser’s first airport. McKinley Park, the future home of Fraser’s first barrier-free park is named in their honor.
The McKinley siblings stand next to a plane in honor of their parents, Otis and Phyllis McKinley, who operated McKinley Airport in Fraser in the 1960s. Holly Maitland, Darla Moll, Grant McKinley, Margo Heintz, Gwen Francis, Rand McKinley, Ray McKinley, Janine MacManamy, Gayle Hannett and Otis McKinley were grand marshals in the city parade July 25.
